The Spanish citrus sector is recognized worldwide for its high-quality production of oranges, mandarins, and other citrus fruits, positioning itself as one of the leading global citrus producers.
Annually, between 5.5 and 7 million tons of citrus fruits are produced in Spain, depending on the campaign, of which around 50% are oranges and 30% are small citrus fruits.
Efficient infrastructure and logistics have enabled the Spanish citrus sector to become the leading exporter of fresh oranges and mandarins. The main export destinations for Spanish citrus fruits are the European Union and the United Kingdom, where, together, around 94% of the total exports are destined.
